Google is set to introduce Gemini AI features to Gmail, allowing users to utilize artificial intelligence for email responses – More information revealed

Google is revolutionizing technology usage with its AI initiatives. The introduction of Gemini models to Google Workspace has enabled users to utilize generative AI features in various tools such as Gmail, Calendar, Meet, Chat, and Drive. The company is now looking to enhance the Gemini feature for Gmail by introducing AI-generated replies, making it easier for users to send quick responses without the need to type out a full reply. Stay tuned for more updates on Google’s plans for the Gmail app.

AI-generated replies for Gmail

A new AI-based feature of the Gmail app Gemini has started appearing on the Internet. An X-user who goes by the name AssembleDebug revealed that Google has been working on Gemini-based replies to the Gmail app via X-message. The post said that “Google Gemini-based reply suggestions are coming to Gmail” and also referred to a report by PiunikaWeb highlighting the feature as “Gemini’s reply suggestions”. However, AI-generated replies in Gmail are limited to users with a Google One AI Premium plan.

Currently, the feature is spotted in Gmail’s developer tickets. In order to generate intelligent replies, Gemini is able to analyze the content written in the received email and respond accordingly. At the beginning, the answers contain three options that users can edit, add or change based on their preferences. Once you have selected the right option and made the necessary changes, you can send the message to the desired person. Pre-written responses are designed to allow users to send responses instantly without wasting time on AI tool prompts, using the “Help me write” feature, or simply drafting an entire email. For now, the responses generated by the Gmail app’s artificial intelligence are being tested among developers. Therefore, we have to wait for an official announcement or information about the feature rollout from Google.
